Winter Spiced Porridge

Hey everyone! I hope you’re all having a wonderful November and you’re all getting prepared for the festive season! 🙂 I always get super excited around Christmas time as I get the added fun of having my birthday in December too! As the festivities are nearly amongst us, I wanted to create a new winter warmer which fills your home will magical Christmas smells, so I created this Winter Spiced Porridge to start your day with a festive kick! Enjoy!

Here’s what you’ll need to make a bowl:

30g rolled oats
1 tbsp chia seeds (plus more for decoration)
1/2 tsp cinnamon spice
1/4 tsp chai spice
200ml coconut/almond/hemp milk
2 tbsp pure maple syrup
A sprinkle of seeds (optional)
A sprinkle of goji berries (optional)
3 chopped dates (optional)

Directions:

1. Start by adding your porridge oats, chia seeds, cinnamon and chai spice to a saucepan. Add the milk.

2. Heat on a medium temperature until the porridge starts to boil and keep stirring it whilst it thickens.

3. Add in one tbsp maple syrup and stir until the porridge has reached your desired thickness.

4. Pour the porridge into a bowl and top it with seeds, berries, nuts and chopped dates, plus the additional tbsp of maple syrup! Enjoy!
